A Guide To Perfect Hair
Before you even think of beginning to style your hair, you must get to the root of the situation, and quite literally. Caring for the roots of your hair is essential to achieving gorgeous hairstyles. Use a shampoo and conditioner of your choice, but make sure that when washing, you do so in a diligent and dedicated manner.
Apply shampoo and wash from the root to the tip in a thick and generous lather. Keep it in for about three minutes and then rinse completely, making sure that no residual suds remain. Then, with about a dime to three dime size of conditioner (depending on the length of your hair), apple conditioner starting from the tips and working your way up to the roots. Scratch it into your scalp and make sure you gentle caress it into your roots. Leave this in for about five minutes before rinsing completely.
Blowdryin’ and Stylin’
After washing your hair, blow dry with the assistance of a roll brush or comb. Stretch out thick pieces of hair and then blow dry in sections to achieve maximum effect. Once you are done drying, it is time to style.
Straight
If you desire a natural straight haired look, use a straightener from a brand you trust. Additionally, invest in a hair solution that protects your hair from the harmful intensity of the hot iron, one that you apply before straightening your hair. Straighten the bottom layers of your hair first before moving on to the top layers and then the bangs or face-framing layers last.
Curly
If you desire gorgeous curls, you can achieve this with the hot iron, as well. Starting at the top of your head, roll a small section onto the hot iron, hold it there for a few seconds, and then pull straight away so that the entire strand runs through the hot iron. Immediately, a beautiful, bouncing curl will appear. After curling your entire head of hair, apply hairspray to keep it in place.
The Stylish Ponytail
Though once meant to be a casual style, the ponytail has made a reappearance as one of the most sleek and ladylike styles of today. Using a small-sized bump-it, tuck it under the hair on the top of your head to give yourself a volumizing lift. Then, taking the rest of your hair, remove just a small section, and tie it up into a traditional ponytail. With the remaining removed section, wrap it around the ponytail to give your hair a natural and elegant appearance. This look is very popular and prized on the red carpets.
The Lady’s Bun
Never to go out of style is the classic bun. Twist your hair into a bun and set it in place with bobby pins or tiny claw clips. Leave bangs out and straighten them to the side for an ethereal sort of regal elegance. A variation of the bun may include a twist, where the hair is taken up, twisted, held in place with a claw clip and then released for a very feminine and fantastic style.
Headbands
Today there are millions of headbands that can provide delicate accents to your hairstyle. Ones that are made to look like bows, flowers, jewels, solid colored and even sequined and glittery, a good headband can often highlight and emphasize your hairdo making it prettier than ever before.
