Victorian Pin
Significance of grouse claw brooch?
I recently bought a victorian (grouse?) claw brooch pin, set in silver with some semi-precious stones.
I would like to know more about its significance…
I know it is of Scottish origin, and often worn in tartans, scarfs and kilts, by both men and women.
However, I want to know more….
Why they wore it? what was the superstition behind it? any specific cultural beliefs?

My question is not what is worth, rather why did they do these…..what superticious beliefs are there?
